If stiffness and strength up to a service temperature of some 140 °C are required, then Durethan® and Pocan® can be used instead of PPS, LCP and PPA.
The graphs show that highly-reinforced Durethan® and Pocan® grades offer a very good price-to-performance ratio with comparable stiffness and a strength level that is sufficient in a large number of cases. In addition, easy processing at lower temperatures means that considerable savings can be made on energy and hence on processing costs.
In determining the cost efficiency, the usual market prices for the particular product class have been set against each other. The different density has been taken into consideration in each case.
