In recent years, there have been a number of bottlenecks in the PA66 supply chain and a thereof resulting increase in the cost of PA66 compounds. The comparison of properties is often in favor of more readily available materials such as PA6 or PBT.
Also due to the technical properties, many processors have recently switched from PA66 to other materials - often in ongoing applications with little or no tool modifications.
